Trapnest (トラネス Toranesu), also reffered to as Tranes for short, was a popular pop-rock band in Japan. The members of the band included; Reira Serizawa (vocals), Ren Honjo (guitar), Takumi Ichinose (bass), and Naoki Fujieda (drums).

The band was signed to Cookie Music. Trapnest had many assistants and managers assigned to the band in order to keep order through their busy schedules. Hideki Kasai was their official director, whilst Takeda managed their public affairs. Kinoshita and Mari were two of Trapnest's assistants, serving Ren and Reira respectively.

After Black Stone's debut, the two bands were often considered rivals.

History[]

''Only I can create the music that sets the stage for the power and beauty of Reira's voice.'' — Takumi Ichinose

The idea of forming a band originated from Takumi's desire to help Reira achieve her dream of becoming a singer. He wanted her to be a respected and admired artist, so he took on the responsibility of writing songs for her. According to Takumi, writing songs that fit the grandiose of Reira's voice was something that only he could do. Takumi put his plan into action when he was in the eighth grade, he and Reira shared a passion for rock 'n' roll, which sparked the idea of starting a band. Takumi took on the role of leader, and after making a deal with a member of the student council, Yasushi Takagi, Takumi was able to get enough signatures to commence the Pop-Music club. The main goal was to secure access to musical instruments and a space to practice. Naoki was recruited to the club around the same time but wasn’t included in the band’s first lineup. A fan of Glam Rock, he wanted of becoming a drummer but lacked the necessary skills at the time. Therefore, Takumi decided to wait, envisioning Naoki as Trapnest's future "Prince'' who could stand prettily next to Takumi's "diva", Reira.

Trapnest gained a lot of fame for Reira's angelic vocals and was already performing live at some music clubs in the local area. Takumi was known as a tyrannical leader, always keeping his eyes on the future. He dismissed Kazuya because his skills as a guitarist weren’t up to par, who was soon replaced by Atsushi whom joined Trapnest as the second guitarist during high school. Naoki joined as the second drummer in the spring of the same year, after the first drummer left the band.

Naoki feared that if he didn’t improve, he would also have to leave the band, so he worked hard to get better as a drummer. He also met Yasu around the same time, which inspired him to practice and made drumming a lot of fun for him. Things were going well with the band, with a large fanbase and many shows scheduled. However, in the winter of the same year, Atsushi decided to leave the band after a fight with Takumi. With Yasu’s help, they found a third guitarist for Trapnest.

The new guitarist was older than the current members but had a cool personality and played guitar very well. However, he decided to leave the band before the official debut, for the same reasons that led the previous members to quit: Takumi was not a welcoming leader and didn’t consider the thoughts and opinions of the other members. This caused the band to go through several lineups over the years.
